ATAAD is developing this website so that professional and government audiences can access its content and core enquiry route across a wide range of devices and assistive technologies. The target for the production website is conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.
Measures being applied
- Semantic headings, landmarks and a keyboard-accessible skip link.
- Visible focus states and keyboard operation for navigation, controls and forms.
- Responsive layouts intended to avoid horizontal scrolling at supported viewport sizes.
- Text alternatives for meaningful images and empty alternatives for decorative images.
- Colour-contrast review and information that is not communicated by colour alone.
- Reduced-motion behaviour for decorative animation and motion-sensitive interactions.
- Form labels, instructions and error relationships that can be interpreted programmatically.
- Quality assurance using automated checks together with keyboard and screen-reader-informed review.
Compatibility
The website is intended to work with current versions of major browsers and common desktop and mobile assistive technologies. Older browsers, unsupported extensions or restrictive network settings may not provide the same experience. Content should remain available without decorative motion, and core information should not depend on pointer hover alone.
Known limitations and ongoing review
The rebuild remains in Local development. Elementor-authored pages, complex navigation, search, forms, motion, third-party embeds and downloadable documents require repeated testing as content changes. A production statement should list any confirmed exception, its affected route, available alternative and remediation target rather than making a blanket claim of complete conformance.
Feedback and alternative access
If you experience an accessibility barrier, use the Contact page and describe the page, task, browser or assistive technology involved and the format you need. Do not include classified, export-controlled or operationally sensitive information. ATAAD should acknowledge and route the request through the responsible website or content owner.
Assessment and review date
Before production publication, ATAAD should record the assessment method, testing scope, remaining exceptions, statement approval owner and review date. The statement should be reviewed after material design or platform changes and at an appropriate regular interval.
